Hackers stole a few designs from home decor websites like Pinterest and Insta.
Now they’re trying to sell them on eBay.
Here’s what you need know: Hackers who hacked a home design website are selling a collection of designs, according to a report in The New York Times.
In a statement to Ars, an unnamed hacker said the group had stolen designs from the popular website Pinterest, which it said was hacked by a group calling itself “Project Mayhem.”
The hacker also said the site had sold about 300 designs to collectors on eBay, including “one of the most stunning home design projects of our generation,” according to the Times.
It wasn’t clear if the eBay auction had sold those designs or if the buyers were the same collectors who were targeted by the hackers.
Auctioneer David Dorman told the Times that he’d never seen an auction like this before.
“It’s really exciting,” he said.
“This is the first auction that’s been conducted where we’re dealing with such a wide range of materials.”
The hackers are using the names “The Art of Home Design” and “The Craft of Home,” which is similar to the name of an online design and design education company that was hacked last year.
Dorman said he doesn’t believe the eBay listings are for real.
“I think the seller is a professional who knows what they’re doing,” he told the newspaper.
The website’s listing includes a list of items that the hackers are selling.
Some of them are pretty impressive, such as the “Spiral Door” chair that the sellers claim can be built with wood, metal, or glass.
Other items include a “Brick Wall” wall that “can be hung from a wall, on a wall or attached to any object,” and a “Cabinet.”
The listings also include a wood-burning fireplace and an “Inner Room” with a built-in lamp.
While the eBay listing suggests the auction is for a limited-edition set of furniture, some of the items on the listing also have an expected price tag of between $1,200 and $2,000.
If you’re looking to make your own furniture or are looking to get your home design into a museum, these are the items to consider bidding on.
