NEW YORK (CNNMoney) — With the warmer weather and more trees and shrubs, this Mediterranean-inspired home might look more like a suburban bungalow than a Mediterranean villa.
But it’s all in the details.
Here are 10 things you’ll want to know before you get started.1.
Where does the house come from?
The building is a home designed by artist-builder Jodi Waddington of New York’s Tully Group.
She wanted to create a home that would look modern but feel like a traditional home.
She also wanted to incorporate elements of Mediterranean architecture, like the balconies, roof and eaves.
She even designed the exterior to resemble a Greek villa or a medieval castle.2.
How many bedrooms does it have?
The house has a total of 10 bedrooms, but Waddham says it’s actually closer to eight.
The house also has an attached backyard, which is a great location for a garden or a fire pit.3.
Can I have more than one bedroom?
Waddington has two bedrooms in the house, but she plans to add more bedrooms in coming months.4.
Can the kitchen be expanded?
Yes, the kitchen and living room can be expanded.
Wadd-ington has also added a sink, a refrigerator and an oven.5.
Can my neighbors stay?
Not at all.
The Waddys live in an apartment with three other people.
They plan to expand the space and create a more open-plan home, but it won’t include balconies or windows.6.
How much will it cost?
$1.3 million to $1 million, depending on where you live and how big the property is.7.
What’s the difference between a Mediterranean and Mediterranean villae?
There are several differences between the two.
Mediterranean villas are typically smaller, have fewer bedrooms and are often located in neighborhoods with a lot of trees and gardens.
The more common Mediterranean villamates, like this one, are more extensive.
Wadsmead, in Pennsylvania, has a lot more than three bedrooms, and it’s also one of the most expensive homes in the U.S. But the Waddies say it’s worth it for their family, because they feel it’s something they’re comfortable with.
“The home is really beautiful and a lot nicer than what we normally do,” Waddley says.
“I think it’s a great balance of comfort and modern style.”
