We’ve seen many new home designs from across the country, but there’s one design that has been inspiring designers in the western US for some time: a house that looks like it’s from the future.
This house in Oklahoma was designed by the legendary Steve Jobs, and it is definitely a futuristic look.
The home in question is called the Bluegrass home, and the inspiration for it comes from the futuristic film The Bluegrass and is set in a post-apocalyptic future where there’s a lack of sunlight, water and energy sources.
When the film was first released in 1986, the home was the second-most popular home on the block in the US, and its location at the edge of the Oklahoma prairie meant that it was an easy place for people to live.
But the future didn’t go to plan for the home, as the climate was changing and the drought was beginning.
As temperatures dropped, the residents of the home were forced to move into an area that was much more barren and dry, and there wasn’t much to do there.
With a lack in sunlight and resources, the Bluefields faced an increasing risk of flooding, which in turn made it harder for them to maintain their traditional lifestyle.
As the years went by, the area around the house began to slowly regenerate, and when the last of the drought came around, the homes residents moved out and the area was completely restored.
While the Blue Grass home is technically a modern design, it is still very much inspired by Steve Jobs’ classic design, and that’s why it’s so appealing.
The idea of living in a future where we live in a very different world from what we know today is an amazing idea, and in this case it’s certainly working.
It’s certainly not the first home design to inspire the likes of Steve Jobs to design a home in the future, but this one certainly feels like it.
The home is set to open on August 1st, 2018 in Oklahoma, and we’ve got a lot of photos of it for you to check out!
