TIFFANY HOME DESIGN SERVICES, LLC, the leading home design and home furnishings online marketplace, has filed a lawsuit against two popular home design websites, homedesign.com and home.design, claiming the sites misrepresented their products and services and unfairly targeted their customers.TIFFANY says it has received more than $20,000 in compensation from homedesign and homedesign, and that it has already filed lawsuits against two other major online home design portals, homebuyer.com.
The sites have also been ordered to remove their advertising from the sites.
In a statement to Business Insider, TIFFAYLIFE said it has taken the allegations against homedesign seriously, and will vigorously defend itself.
“We will vigorously contest the allegations and defend our business against them,” the statement said.
TiffANY has been working to combat online home-design fraud, which the company says has reached $200 billion in value over the last decade.
In the past year, the company has also launched a suite of tools and tools that allow consumers to submit custom home design ideas and get the final home design approval from the home design professional.TUFFALOT said in a statement that the lawsuit was filed by attorneys for the plaintiff’s clients and that the company would “continue to vigorously defend against these frivolous lawsuits.”TIFFAYLAIFE also said that it would work with the consumer protection agency to identify the other websites and sites that it believes were responsible for misrepresenting their products, services and services to TIFFANTS customers.
Home design and homes.design.org and homebuyers.com did not immediately respond to BusinessInsider’s request for comment.
The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages and attorney fees.
